Wheelchair service for funerals in the South East

SAIF has been contacted by the British Red Cross who can provide wheelchairs to bereaved families to help them attend the funeral of a loved one: “We know that people do come to us for a wheelchair to attend these services, especially if they are frail or have mobility issues and we fully understand the distress caused when such equipment is not readily available.

I would like to inform you that our Mobility Aids Service is still operating and can give access to wheelchairs in a variety of sizes.

While there is a small cost for this service, we will do everything in our ability to make available a wheelchair to ensure they can attend their loved one’s service. They can be collected from many of our Mobility Aids Offices or we can arrange delivery (for a small fee).

We would ask that where you have anyone contacting you, that you feel would benefit from this support, would you consider giving them our contact details. Please be assured that we will treat everyone who contacts us with respect and dignity.

Please note this applies to funerals in Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
