Vaccination update for SAIF Members: visiting care homes

From 11th November 2021, funeral directors, along with other professionals, will be
required to show proof of vaccination when visiting CQC-registered care homes in
England. Funeral directors who have been vaccinated by the NHS in England may
demonstrate their vaccination status using the NHS Covid Pass service via the following
three routes:

• The NHS App
• The NHS website – NHS.uk
• The NHS Covid Pass letter

An individual’s NHS appointment card cannot be used as proof of vaccination status.

Devolved administrations

Funeral directors who live in devolved administration areas will still need to show proof of vaccination if visiting a care home in England. Funeral directors vaccinated in Scotland can find information on how to obtain a record of their Covid-19 vaccination status from nhsinformscot.

Individuals vaccinated in Wales can find information on how to obtain a record of their Covid-19 vaccination status from gov.wales.

Members in Northern Ireland should use the NHS Covid Cert NI App.
