Suicide Bereavement’s International Conference – 25th September, Manchester

Dr Sharon McDonnell of Suicide Bereavement UK presented at SAIF’s Education Day in 2017 and funeral directors were instrumental in mobilising responses to the first survey on the important subject of suicide and prevention.  We encourage members to attend this ground breaking conference.

Funeral directors are first responders and SAIF has a partnership with the umbrella charity “support after suicide prevention (SASP)”.  There are ‘held at hand’ z cards for clients who face this kind of bereavement held in the SAIF Business Centre which are free to members, please contact us for a supply of these.

Suicide Bereavement UK and Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust are collaborating for the 8th year running to host Suicide Bereavement UK’s International Conference. This conference will focus on vulnerable subgroups amongst those bereaved by suicide and taboo issues directly associated with such deaths.

The University of Manchester in collaboration with Support After Suicide Partnership will launch the National Suicide Bereavement Survey Report at this event. Findings will be of national and international importance. More details on the conference here.
