Funerals are a popular news item at the moment and some of our members were interview on BBC local radio stations to talk about the changing nature of funerals into a positive time of celebration rather than the more traditional sombre approach.

Past President, Gemma O’Driscoll, was interviewed on the ‘Dot Davies’ show on BBC Wales. The topic was ‘Fun Funerals’ and Gemma talked about making funerals as personal as possible to the life of the deceased and their family. You may listen to the interview here. (Forward to 1:41:40 to hear Gemma.)

Mark and Becky Horton of Hortons Funeral Directors in Hull were interviewed by Sally Fairfax on BBC Radio Humberside on Friday.  They highlighted that independent funeral directors are more able to tailor the funeral to meet individual requests, such as having stilt walkers outside the crematorium. Listen to Mark and Becky here. (Forward to 43.00.)
