SAIF members are to benefit from a new source of authoritative business advice after the Society was approved as a partner of Buckinghamshire and Surrey (Surrey County Council) Trading Standards’ Primary Authority Scheme.

The Primary Authority partnership enables both independent funeral director and supplier members of SAIF to receive, via a single point of contact, assured and tailored advice on how to meet regulations.

As a result, businesses will be empowered to invest with confidence in products, practices and procedures, knowing that the resources they devote to compliance are well spent.

Terry Tennens, Chief Executive of SAIF, said the Society’s involvement in the Primary Authority Scheme demonstrated how it was promoting high standards among its members.

“The approval of the partnership is fantastic news for all businesses in membership of SAIF, as it means that our funeral directors and their suppliers can come to us for a comprehensive range of trustworthy advice to help them deliver the best possible service to their clients.

“Importantly, the scheme complements the specialist guidance provided by our renowned team of funeral experts, cementing SAIF’s position as the go-to trade association for family-run or privately owned businesses,” he said.

The partnership will initially focus on trading standards advice.

The partnership was approved by the UK Government following a formal nomination process.

The SAIF Business Centre which can be contacted at info@saif.org.uk or by phone 01279 726777 will act as a conduit between the Primary Authority and the membership.
