CMA Provisional Decision Report update

27/08/2020   //   No Comments

Thank you to members who contacted the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) about extending the deadline for responding to their Provisional Decision Report (PDA). The deadline has been extended to 5 pm on 1st October.

We have more time but we still need your help to ensure that the voice of the independent funeral director is considered when the CMA takes its next steps.

Please check your email inbox for our email posted on 24th August (may also be read on the Members’ secure area here.) The information is also being posted to arrive from 26th August onwards.

The CMA Provisional Decision Report presents threats to your future and your community. Please take action by:
1. Reading the summary of the PDR, a seven-page summary of the CMA’s proposed remedies, found here: https://www.gov.uk/cma-cases/funerals-market-study

2. Emailing the Chairman of the CMA Funeral Investigation Panel to clearly state your objections to the CMA PDR (summarised in the first set of four bullet points) and explain the detriment to your business.
We urge you to email by the new deadline of 5 pm on 1st October.

IF YOU HAVE RESPONDED BY POST, PLEASE RE-SEND BY EMAIL.

Please contact Mr Martin Coleman, Chairman, CMA Funerals Investigations:
