Suicide: What’s happening in the UK and what does this mean for suicide prevention?

With World Suicide Prevention Day on Monday, the Office of National Statistics released an interesting blog on what is happening with suicide in the UK. You can read the blog on the ONS website here.

The latest data shows that there were 5,821 suicides registered in 2018 in the UK and the number and rate has decreased for the third year in a row. The decrease has mainly occurred in men, with men accounting for three quarters of all suicides.
