Prepare a Purple Picnic to help bring back smiles to bereaved children in Norfolk

Nelson’s Journey is a Norwich based charity which has the aim of enabling ‘every bereaved child in Norfolk to look forward to a positive future, empowered to reach their full potential.’ Their ambition is best summarised by their strap line:  bringing back smiles.  The charity provides telephone guidance and other services depending on what is appropriate for each child. These include one-to-one appointments and group activities for them to meet others in a similar situation. The support children whether the person died very recently or a long time ago, and all their services are free of charge.

In addition to year round fundraising activities, Nelson’s Journey holds a Purple Picnic Week, this year it will take place from 9th to 15th July 2018. Schools, businesses and individuals are able to hold their own Purple Picnic, remember someone special that has died and fundraise to help children and young people in Norfolk who have suffered a bereavement.

It costs £248 to send a bereaved child or young person to one of the residential weekends. You can help Bring Back Smiles to these children by holding a #NJPurplePicnic
