Message from the Environmental Stewardship Group

A round table event for Funeral Directors to discuss the climate emergency, help to identify where the sector currently is positioned and to propose what needs to be done to meet the challenges of “net zero”.

The event is being held by the Environmental Stewardship Group as part of an intense activity to engage with the widest possible number of organisations, membership groups and individuals within the sector.

The Cremation Society of Great Britain, Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management, Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities and the CDS Group have joined together in this voluntary collaboration to address this pressing issue and to be a focal point for the sector to help make a real and sustainable difference.

Latest targets released by the Government in relation to Air and Water quality, Land Management and Biodiversity requirements for the UK have identified a significant step change in targets and a substantially shorter timescale in which to achieve them.

We would welcome your involvement in this challenging and exciting activity where you can and will make a real difference for the sector.
