Book now for Manchester’s 7th International Bereavement Conference on 26th September

There will be 15 speakers at this year’s conference, including:

• Dr Sharon McDonnell: ‘The Impact of Suicide: Preliminary Findings for The National Suicide Bereavement Survey’

Sharon is the Managing Director of Suicide Bereavement UK and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Manchester.  She is currently leading the UK suicide bereavement online survey, which is focussing on the impact of suicide in the UK. This study is a collaboration between The University of Manchester and Support After Suicide Partnership.  Over 6000 have completed the survey. Sharon will present preliminary findings from this study.

• Professor Rory O’Connor: ‘Understanding Suicidal Behaviour’ 

Rory is Professor of Health Psychology at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, Past President of the International Academy of Suicide Research and a current Vice President of the International Association for Suicide Prevention. Rory leads the Suicidal Behaviour Research Laboratory at Glasgow, one of the leading suicide/self-harm research groups in the UK.  Rory’s presentation will focus on understanding suicidal behaviour
