The uk government should adopt the Scottish regulation framework and code of practice just now, to give the families the reassurance and protection needed right now. They can then tailor it to their own needs as time goes on.
A long time overdue. Should be licensed like in America. Sort out these body disposal operations masquerading as funeral companies like Pure Cremation.
The big part I don’t understand is why with legacy for example did the registrars not step in when the green certificate didnt come back to them to advise what had been done with the bodies?as cremations never took place 🙄
Interesting times ahead I am sure. I hope that SAIF and other associations consult with all parties who have a valuable input into the industry especially the celebrants who work alongside funeral directors and crematoriums to help and support families. Association of Independent Celebrants
