You’ll know that the The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will be regulating funeral plans from July 2022, but do you know what it will mean for your funeral business?
Whilst the market report is still underway, the FCA have confirmed that funeral directors who sell funeral plans will need to either register directly with the FCA or become an Authorised Representative of a regulated plan provider.
In this webinar, SAIF’s Terry Tennens meets Richard Sutcliffe and Terry Denness from the FCA. They have responsibility for devising and implementing the new regulations at the FCA. They presented on:
- advice on the steps and timeframe involved
- outlining the consultation process
- explaining what the changes will mean for funeral directors selling plans
- and took questions from members
Richard is a Head of Department with responsibility for the implementation of the new regulatory regime for Prepaid Funeral Plans. He has worked at the FCA and predecessor bodies since 2003. Terry Denness is Project Lead, Policy.
