Funeral directors asked to sign up to secure NHS service

SAIF has received information about a free NHS secure email encryption facility which allows GP surgeries (and other NHS and Government departments) to be able to send out information in a secure manner, rather than via open email, thus allowing GDPR protocols to be observed in respect of people’s information.

We are advised that, at the current time, the GP surgery (and others) will be looking to send out crematorium forms/certificates by email to their local funeral directors so as to minimise the requirements for the funeral home staff and/or relatives to have to go in and collect in person.
