Learning opportunities for SAIF Members in OctoberOctober 3, 2017 // No Comments
SAIF is offering members lots of opportunities to learn what’s happening in the profession, discover ideas to improve your funeral company and earn CPD hours. For some of them you don’t even need to leave your office to participate! Here’s what’s coming up over the next couple of weeks:
Jonathan Davies of The Much-Loved Charitable Trust will update members on all there is to know about changes to charitable giving. He will also explain the situation on The General Data Protection Regulation, the most important change in data privacy regulation in 20 years. This regulation gives control back to individuals over their personal data and businesses must comply when it becomes enforceable in May 2018.
How to deal with the key Issues facing Private and Family firms in 2017 to 2018: the webinar will be presented by Ian Cass, Managing Director of The Forum of Private Business, who has been very well received as guest speaker at several of our regional meetings around the country.
Dementia awareness: Statistically one in three of us is likely to be affected by dementia, either because we or a family member develops it or we are closely associated with someone who is living with dementia. It is estimated that by 2020 a million people in the UK will be living with dementia. Ignorance is not bliss, and having an awareness of dementia may help you to obtain early medical support and provide care and support. As professionals we come into close contact with families who are mourning the death of somebody who had dementia, assisting a main mourner with dementia or supporting staff who are dementia carers. Chris Parker FSAIF is a Dementia Friends’ Champion trained by Alzheimer’s Society to deliver dementia awareness sessions.
Cyber fraud & other risks facing businesses: presented by Brian Hart who is once again managing SAIFInsure.
