SAIF Scotland’s President Mark Porteous commented in The Times online on 20th May on the subject of Glasgow City Council trying to prevent Ian Brady’s request to be laid to rest in his home city.  Mark described the situation as “very difficult and sensitive.” He said that the “history of the individual in question dictates that there will never be a normal, traditional funeral for him.  However in our role as funeral directors, we take care of the deceased in a professional and respectful manner, regardless of what our personal views may be.”
