SAIF President’s 166 mile cycle challengeMarch 1, 2017 // No Comments
Several SAIF Members have set themselves a challenge of cycling 166 miles before the forthcoming Annual General Meeting in Harrogate in March. SAIF President Paul Allcock, SAIF Scotland President Mark Porteous and incoming Vice President Gary Staker will be raising money for Paul’s charity of the year, MIND, the charity which campaigns for mental health support. The three day epic ride will start at Berwick-upon-Tweed in the Scottish borders, travel down the Northumberland coast, down to Newcastle, Sunderland, Northerallerton, Ripon and ending in Harrogate in time for the AGM Weekend.
Since Paul, Mark and Gary made the original plans, David Fry and Lisa Platts, from funeral supplies company Clarke & Strong, have also decided to join the challenge. Arran Brudenell, Past President and Managing Director of Anstey & District Funeral Services in Leicester has also volunteered to drive the support van for the trip.
