End of Life Transport Service for North East PatientsJuly 15, 2016 // No Comments
ChronicleLive reports that terminally ill patients in the North East now have a dedicated transport service provided by the North East Ambulance Service, which allows them to travel to their chosen place to die. The service was used by over 1,000 patients in a trial between October 2015 and March 2016. Most people chose to be taken from hospital to die peacefully at home, but other requests included being driven to the beach and to the patient’s local church to receive final mass.
