What is Secure Haven?

Essex couple Paul and Cheryl Yarwood took a bold and fresh approach to the issues and attitudes surrounding death when they set up Secure Haven.

The company, established last year in a beautiful Grade II-listed Essex Barn, at Margaretting, near Chelmsford, is offering the bereaved an alternative pathway for their journey through grief – particularly following cremation.  Secure Haven, a new member of SAIF, offers the only UK service for the collection and dignified short or long-term storage for cremated remains; giving family and friends valuable thinking time, so that decisions can be made about a final resting place free from anxiety.

Says Cheryl Yarwood:  “When someone dies, so begins a huge grieving process, and many people just need more time to think things through. Our service takes the immediate pressure off them and gives them space to make the best.”

The Yarwoods have scoured the world to create an exclusive range of ecological, ethical and cost-sensitive ‘greener’ products for cremated remains including biodegradable and dissolvable urns.  You can find out more at their website.
