The Importance of Annual Refresher Training of First Aiders

In its March bulletin, the HSE strongly recommends employers ensure their first aiders receive annual refresher training.

The reason for refreshing these skills annually is that it helps maintain employee’s competency until they re-qualify.  They state that, as an employer “if you wish to minimise this risk and maintain your first aiders competency consider introducing annual refresher training if you haven’t done so already.”

SAIF is delighted to offer a series of heavily subsidised first aid courses around the country.  Entitled ‘Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)’, the sessions offer six hours of coursework and attendees receive a certificate from QCF EFAW, a recognised standard, valid for 3 years.  The courses will be held at Durham, Newmarket, Swansea, Wakefield, Haydock, Chelmsford, Tiverton and Maidstone.  Click on the Events page for further details.
