Charity celebrates 21 years of rebuilding lives
OVER 100 people attended an Open Day and Awards Ceremony at Child Bereavement UK’s base in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire on Tuesday 17th March. The charity is celebrating its 21st year of helping families to rebuild their lives after the devastation of child bereavement.
The Open Day attracted teachers, health professionals, members of the Citizen’s Advice Bureau and local charities, as well as members of the public. Visitors were able to talk to staff and learn more about the charity’s family bereavement support services, and the broad range of training courses on offer to professionals whose work brings them into contact with bereaved families. They were also able to find out about fundraising and volunteering opportunities and chat to staff and current volunteers.
SAIF has supported the work of Child Bereavement UK for some years now and we are delighted that SAIF’s 2015/16 President, Gemma O’Driscoll, has selected this as one of her two charities of the year. You can support Gemma’s Charity Challenge here.
