New secretary for the Cremation Society of Great BritainMarch 9, 2015 // No Comments
The Cremation Society of Great Britain has announced that Mr Roger Arber will retire on April 21st after nearly 30 years as Secretary of the Society.
The Chairman of the Society’s Council, Harvey Thomas CBE said, “Roger has given exceptional service and leadership to the Cremation Society for more than three decades. He has made an immense contribution to both the Society and the progress and development of cremation in the UK and worldwide through the International Cremation Federation.”
Mr Arber will be succeeded by Mrs Miriam Deacon, who has been Deputy Manager of the Gwent Crematorium in Newport, South Wales for ten years. Mrs Deacon has served on the executive and technical committees of the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities and was President of the FBCA in 2013/14.
