Welcome to new SAIF MembersDecember 29, 2014 // No Comments
Colin Fisher Funeral Services, Orpington, Kent
Colin’s route to funeral directing has been an indirect one, starting work in the hospitality business. Then after years of working for other funeral directors, Colin Fisher Funeral Directors was set up in March 2011. As a qualified funeral director (Dip FD), Colin is a great believer in the personal touch, the familiar face. No one, to him, is just another client. He says, “I wanted to open a funeral home that offered a good affordable personal service”. He adds, “I pride myself on treating people how I would like to be treated.”
Colin Fisher Funeral Directors has won an accolade in 2012 and 2014 from the Good Funeral Guide and was nominated in the Best Funeral Director category at The Good Funeral Awards. As a member and secretary of the British Institute of Funeral Directors, Colin also wanted to join another trade organisation and felt SAIF was the ideal choice. SAIF was recommended and the other favourable testament is that SAIF works for Independent Funeral Directors.
The proprietor, Gary Morriss has been in the funeral profession for more than 30 years and is from a family of funeral directors, now into its third generation. He has held his diploma in funeral directing since 1988 and been fully qualified in embalming since 1981. Funeral director Michael Wort has been in the funeral profession for more than 13 years and also holds a diploma in funeral directing. Both Gary and Michael have the license to practice, issued by The British Institute of Funeral Directors. To Gary and Michael, becoming members of SAIF means that they can prove that they can provide and maintain the highest quality of service to their valued customers with the support of a larger organisation.
David Gallagher Funeral Directors & Monumental Masons, Utley, West Yorkshire
David and Adele Gallagher established their company in 1993 with the support of their families. Their aim was to become the public’s first choice by maintaining a personal caring approach to all families of the bereaved. David Gallagher had 4 years previous experience passing the Diploma in Funeral Directing in 1992. Adele Gallagher entered the business in November 1997 and successfully gained her diploma in 2000.
David and Adele re-located their business and home to Airedale House in May 2004. The property was a former working farm dating back to 1843 and proved to be the ideal property. Following extensive refurbishment, the property now consists of a service chapel, comfortable arranging room and offices.
“We are proud to say that we are now members of SAIF. As independent Funeral Directors we know that we will be heard and SAIF will assist us and help us maintain the growth of our business, along with offering many other benefits.”
