New Shared Parental Leave RegulationsDecember 16, 2014 // No Comments
From 1st December new regulations apply, designed to give parents more flexibility in how to share the care of their child in the first year following a birth or adoption.
As employers, SAIF members could start to receive notices of eligibility and the intention to take Shared Parental Leave from qualifying employees from January 2015. For babies born or children placed for adoption on or after 5th April 2015, eligible parents may choose how to share their time off work, up to 52 weeks after birth or adoption placement. SAIF members may read a summary of the changes and how they affect employers in the SAIF Briefing Note on Shared Parental Leave. This may be found by logging onto the Members’ Area and selecting the Human Resources tab.
