Be SAIF, Be aware of the latest scam affecting funeral directorsDecember 11, 2014 // No Comments
SAIF Business Centre has received a warning from Mark Mason at Mason’s Independent Funeral Directors in Weston-super-Mare about an email from Nigeria.
The email is asking for a quotation for a repatriation arrangement from Lagos, Nigeria. The aim of this scam is not to swindle money out of the company being contacted, but to confirm that the email address is a live address. By responding to the email, your email address is verified and will then be used, potentially enabling the originator to corrupt your email system.
Mr Mason is the third person to have received this type of email, outlined below. As usual, if it sounds dubious, it probably is, so DO NOT RESPOND.
