SAIF welcomes these recently joined new members.
Today, five generations on from the founder, Reynolds operate three distinct businesses: these are the Funeral Service, the Furniture Store and the Self-Storage. Dominic and Matthew Reynolds are in charge of the furniture and storage departments; James and Stephen Reynolds are in charge of the Funeral Service.
Over the past year Reynolds Funeral Service has undergone a rebrand; the Littlehampton Office has been upgraded and the refurbishment of the Office and the Chapels of Rest at Bognor Regis has been recently completed.
Stephen Reynolds told us, “At Reynolds Funeral Service the focus is on providing support for the bereaved and all members of our staff endeavour to live up to our mantra ‘Our family caring for yours’. Reynolds Funeral Service has joined SAIF as it is a united front for the independent funeral firector, which helps to obtain business services that only the larger groups of companies are able to obtain. It also helps that our clients know we belong to a recognised association and that we have the support of SAIF.”
Evan George Sims founded a Bakers and Confectioners business in 1862 supplying the Bonymaen area with freshly baked bread and other household goods. The general store was run by members of the Sims family until 2011 when Eirlys Sims decided that it was the right time to close.
Gareth Sims, who is the grandson of Evan George Sims worked as a funeral director for many years in Swansea and his son Matthew followed him in to the funeral profession. When Matthew recently decided to establish a family funeral directors the vacant general stores offered an ideal location.
“We have obtained membership to SAIF, so that our clients know they are going to be looked after and cared for by professionals. We also provide Golden Charter Funeral Plans.’ Sims and Jones Funeral Directors are looking forward to what the future has in store as a family business and are very happy that the Sims name lives on in the community of Bonymaen, Swansea. If Sims and Jones can be of any assistance to any of our SAIF colleagues, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to help where possible.”
Phillip Emery first entered the funeral profession at the age of 16 after spending a weeks work experience with a local funeral director. Following this, he decided it was the career path he most wanted to follow. He then qualified and spent five years working as an embalmer and since spent the last 18 years as a Funeral Director.
Phillip’s dad, Michael Emery also works with him and after spending 27 years running his own local business has brought his experience and knowledge to the Company. Phillip and his father now run the only Independent funeral home in Rugeley and are caring for both the local and surrounding community, offering their personal and dignified service. Their reputation has allowed the business to expand considerably over the years.
Joining SAIF has been an important move due to their recognition and support to the independent funeral profession.
