We are located in a central position of town, with free parking facilities for our client,  modern and comfortable reception, lounge and chapel areas and friendly staff providing a traditional yet modern day funeral service.   Carl Mean, Apolena Wilson and Andrew Evans have worked locally in the funeral profession each for over 20 years, dedicated to their role as Funeral Directors and are an integral part of the community.

Woodlands Funerals opened in March 2014. Mark Potter and wife Christine offer a caring and dignified service to clients on the Fylde Coast. Mark has been in the industry for many years now, arranging and conducting well over two hundred Funeral Services.  Mark considers the funeral service should be as individual as the person whose life is being celebrated. He views himself as being a modern day funeral director with old fashioned values.

This company was founded in 1880 by Joseph Humphris, who started the business from his front room at 74 Broughton Road before moving to a proper workshop.  1913, Harold, Joseph’s eighth son, took over from the business after his father had an accident which left him disabled.  After the First World War, Harold moved to the present location in Albert Street which had previously been used as a brewery.  The buildings were adapted and added to as the business expanded. In the 1950’s Harold was joined by his sons John and Maurice.  Harold died in 1966 since when the premises have been modernised and improved on a number of occasions.  In 1981, Maurice’s son Martin joined the business, as did John’s son Christopher in 1985.

More recently in 2012, Christopher’s son Matthew and then in 2014, Martin’s daughter Lucy joined their fathers in the family business which is now in its fifth generation. With over 130 years of service behind the firm, the Humphris family look forward to the future with confidence as they continue to serve the residents of Banbury, Brackley and surrounding district.

As a long established family business of funeral directors, J & M Humphris have always very much valued their independence and so decided to join SAIF to work with like-minded businesses.
