SAIF has been appointed to the Scottish National Committee on Infant Cremation

SAIF is honoured to join the Scottish National Committee on Infant Cremation, which has been created as a response to the Infant Cremation Commission’s report published in June 2014.

The report contains 64 separate recommendations for action, one of which is the creation of the national committee.  The committee will have a key role in overseeing the implementation of many of the Commission’s recommendations, relating to the wrok of crematoria, funeral directors, the NHS and third sector organisations.

Members of the committee must be based and working in Scotland and be currenty employed in the industry or organisation which they represent.  SAIF Scotland President Jim Brodie will represent SAIF, with Andrew Ironside acting as deputy.  The committee will meet quarterly in Edinburgh, beginning in October.
