Meet the new SAIF Scotland PresidentAugust 27, 2014 // No Comments
When Jim Brodie took up the reins at SAIF Scotland in June 2014, this was the second time he had done so. Jim was previously SAIF Scotland President from 2002 to 2004.
Jim joined the family funeral business in 1985 and took the helm of the business in 2004 following a family buyout of the company. In addition to being SAIF Scotland President, Jim was also Scottish President of the NAFD twice consecutively. He’s a member of Golden Charter’s ownership group, SAIFCharter, and was regional winner of the Funeral Planner of the Year Awards in 2012.
Speaking of his recent appointment, Jim said, “I’m very proud to serve again and am looking forward to my term. I hope all Independents in Scotland will support their Executive Members in the huge amount of work they carry out on behalf of Scottish SAIF members.”
Jim talked about the challenges expected to be faced by funeral directors over the coming year. “We have a full programme ahead with the Lord Bonomy report and its implications and the implementation of the new death certification laws which come into effect in April 2015. More than at any other time in the last quarter of a century, I would encourage members to attend our meeting so that the new processes can be fully explained and discussed.”
