Letter from Alun Tucker to Members:

I have recently received a letter from the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) requesting that all funeral directors include their bank details on invoices to assist in payment by bank transfer.

I suspect that many will be doing this already.

Following a number of members’ enquiries, I have raised the matter that notification letters that payment is due seem to have stopped and no reference is included when a payment is made, other than the deceased’s national insurance number.  It is hoped that following my conversation with the DWP that a solution to this will be found.

As I have now opened dialogue with the DWP, please keep me informed of any difficulties you are experiencing.
